ALSO i will finish answering the "why i like you" and "why i dislike you" threads, sorry if i havent responded to you, i was just a bit tired. :P

1.) Maggie Gyllenhaal. Both the roles she takes and the things she says show great courage. In an image-driven field, that's dangerous. Frankly, I like her fearlessness.

2.) Several. I prefer to admire from afar. Generally, they're the people putting themselves out on the line for their beliefs in ways which might be dangerous.

3.) No. I honestly try to avoid putting toxic waste into my body. Every artificial sweetener on the market, with the exception of Splenda has been linked to an increased incidence of cancer in one or more studies. Both Sweet and Low and Equal are known to damage the body's ability to shut off hunger signals. Splenda is toxic to the liver in high quantities. It's probably only a matter of time until long-term usage is linked to liver disease. I stick pretty much to turbanado sugar, eschewing even the white stuff because it's not veggie-friendly.

4.) Politics. Really. It's somewhat ironic that I have a degree in political theory. I've always known what I wanted to do for a living though and that was the shortest path available to me. It's boring as all-hell to study though.

5.) Moo Shoes in NYC. Reasonably-priced stylish vegan footwear. They deliver too...anywhere in the US.

Well, I'm not much into celebrity worship, but George Clooney is hot and doesn't sound like a moron when he talks politics.

I admire Angelina Jolie, and not for her looks. She does a lot of good for the world. She impressed a lot of people in my family when she and Brad decided to buy a house in New Orleans after Katrina.

Lots of them.

When I drink tea (which isn't often) I prefer Splenda. I don't drink coffee.

Don't have one. Shoes are something I buy when I happen to need them, and I rarely pay attention to brands.

Music appreciation. It was required as a humanities class. Even though I was a former musician and had dozens of performance and music theory credits, I had to take it. ZZZZZZZZZZ.

no store in particular, but Im fanatic about Asics running shoes. I switched to them a couple years ago and now I dont run on anything else.

DSW for local stores, and I want a pair of those non-sweatshop faux Chuck Taylors. My wife has a pair and they are nice sneakers. My honest answer though is I tend to buy based on sale price and construction/style more than brand.

I admire the celebrities who use their fame to do some good in the world. I think that's a great thing to do with that high visibility.

1. There's a few I admire in their craft as actors/actresses, but I gravitate towards celebrity writers/artists/thinkers, such as Bill Moyers, Gore Vidal, the late Kurt Vonnegut, and the all-too-missed composer Frank Zappa.

Birkenstock's -- what can I say, I'm not a shoe person. I buy a pair of Birk's, and wear them for years. The pair I'm in now (Arizona's) I've had for 6 years. The tread is wearing on the bottom, so this may be the year to get another pair.

Adam Yauch (MCA of the Beastie Boys) is one of mine. He's a great activist for the environment, Tibet, animals, human rights, etc.

Several. One that I admire a great deal is Elad. He's really put together an incredible website here, with a lot of features and an overall user-friendly feel that I've seen nowhere else.

Like I am. I treat my arthritis with heat and beer.

I gave up my anti-inflammatories too. I have to take Motrin before my MS shots, and the doctor warned me not to mix the two. So sometimes the throbbing in my toe gets so intense I can barely stand it.

she is one tough lady though. her doctor says that no one in her condition would be able to walk if it werent for intense will power

I don't really know. I actually liked classes. The only thing I didn't like about school was the other kids! I guess PE was my least favourite class, especially if it was rugby. I was never into rugby. Too violent.

4. Economics - interesting subject, but my econ prof. was insane, and I mean that in a serious sense. Incomprehensible, awful professor. Exam questions without nouns or verbs, and so on. But in general, the history classes as a genre were my least favorite. I never came across a history teacher or professor who I thought taught history the proper way until my last year of grad school when I had a fantastic prof., who then died right after the semester finished and I never got my final paper back. :cry: But I did get to sing at his funeral.
