"West End Girls"--heard the song this morning, and I wondered
not for the first time, about the social classes of the East End boys and the West End girls.

IME in the the USA, seems the West End usually is ordinary working folks, and the East End is where the money is.

Is that how it is in London?

1. Well, here in SE Michigan (Detroit area) East side is blue collar
and West side is predominantly white collar. West siders (not all) make comments like, "The wedding was SO East Side..." meaning, "The wedding was SO tacky." It's irritating to those of us who live on the East side. Plus they seem to forget we have the Grosse Pointes which will out snob just about anyone. :hi:
