I bought a $500 video card for $350.

I kept telling myself I wouldn't.

But it's a damn good card, it's by and large the same $500 price online, and I'm single.

:)

1. Reminds me...as soon as I get out of grad school and get my student loan
payments under control, I'm gonna buy a hell of a computer.

How is buying a video card a bad thing? Was it hot (stolen) or something? I'm not seeing the bad part.

4. I'm supposed to be saving money.
I'm in no dire straits financially, but still - I've been trying to break old habits.

And if it wasn't for the price drop (store going out of business), I wouldn't have bought it at all. 30% off was well below mail order prices.

Plus, there was only 2 cards left. I know they'd sell quick at $350. Not when they can be had online for $450~$500.

Besides, I just bought the Vista upgrade and new web development software as well.

On the plus side, once I learn it all I'll be more 'marketable'. Half the reason I do something is for knowledge in the first place. Only now, for leisure, I can play the games at a really nice speed...

8. Man, don't worry about it.
$350? Wouldn't buy you a cup of coffe. Okay...maybe 300 cups of coffee or so, but still.

Its your money, man. You have no little kids to steal it. Enjoy your fast new games.

9. True. If society collapses, having a million $ wouldn't make a difference.
I don't think it will collapse anytime soon... and I just like to worry.

Been a good life anyway. :)

5. They are. One needs to see things.
I do have some regret in buying it, but I'm keeping it in check.

No excess spending for another month. :) Again, if the store wasn't closing and as such no deal, I wouldn't have bought.
