Hi, I'm an old poster from around the 2004 elections. Maybe a few of you remember me from back in the days of Clark/Dean flamewars. Since then I worked in the '06 Congressional elections for one of our victorious Dems. ;)
I have a lot of fun playing a free online political game called SenateSeeker that basically simulates US politics and government. You can run for Senate, run for House, and run for Governor in every state in the country (plus DC and Puerto Rico - we got them statehood!) Once you win office, you can vote on bills and submit legislation. You can also become President, a Supreme Court Justice, and a cabinet secretary.
Right now we Democrats have a majority in both houses of Congress, but it looks like in this weeks election we will lose it. We also have a Republican President, and we need to pass progressive legislation and block conservative legislation. We need more Democrats! So if you think you would enjoy an online political game like this, sign up for a House or Senate race at
http://www.senateseeker.comOnce you are in the game, just send a message to our Democratic House leader (
TwoodardWI) or our Democratic Senate leader (
Maurice Hinchey) and they will help get you oriented with how to play.
I hope to see you there!
Matt (for Obama & Edwards this time around - Not sure which yet!)
