Am I the only Target junkie?
Edited on Thu May-03-07 02:02 PM by Shell Beau
I just got all kinds of good stuff there for my house!! A new shower curtain, bath mat, and towels to match. Curtains for 3 of my windows in my house! Jeez, I never come out of there without spending at least $200! But that is cheap for all the stuff I got!

17. It is not.
Target is and always has been of higher quality that Wal-Mart, in my not-so-humble opinion. For quality comparison, I'd put Wal-Mart on the same level as K-Mart. I'm from Minnesota and I've been shopping at Target since childhood, waaaaaaaay back when Target was still "discount Daytons" and owned by the Dayton family.

If I remember correctly, Target and Wal-Mart were born the same year (1962). Target's no johnny-come-lately, though some people think it is.

30. They are building a brand new one within biking distance of my house!
There is an existing one across town that is a couple of years old but it's not as easy to get to.

We will have two Targets! There's a new Lowes near my house too! :woohoo:

The second Target will probably finish off the last remaining K-Mart in a 12 county area. The K-Mart is an easy walk or bike ride from my house. I try to avoid the giant super Walmart on my side of town. There are two WalMarts in this area.

When I get home I can park my car if I want too and go on foot or by bike.

I can walk or bike to three grocery stores, lots of restaurants, pharmacys, K-Mart, local shopping centers and stores and businesses, a local garden center with a tiny post office inside of it, churches, gas stations, AutoZone, schools, my optometrist and (most importantly of all) the upscale liquor store!

however, many cities and counties don't allow Sunday restaurant alcohol sales or don't allow liquor to be sold in stores or restaurants, don't allow any alcohol to be served in restaurants, ban bars and clubs, and many places are totally dry.

My back doctor is off of Lakeland, on Layfair Drive. I'm glad to know that there's a Target up there. :D

Ichiban! That's it! A guy friend of mine asked me to go up with him last week and eat, but we had a lot of family stuff going on.

So, what's your fave restaurant in Jackson? We at at the Islamorda (I think that's the name) right after it opened--at Bass Pro Shop, and it was overpriced and not too good.

I have to say Amerigo's is one of my favorites as is Char. Both are so yummy! We did eat at the Islamorada while in Bass Pro and it was so-so! They are putting in a new shopping center right over there by Bass Pro. I can't wait. Also, Madison is getting a Saks 5th Avenue!! :woohoo:

Yeah, the Lakeland area was really growing the last time I was up there. I haven't "pissed around" in Jackson in a long time...need to do that soon.

Need to get up to the Golden Moon, soon, too. But we're waiting for the waterpark to open before we go...so probably early June. :)

I am a total SuperTarget junky. It is my guilty pleasure.

They opened a new one in Roseville MN (on the site of the first ever Target, BTW) less than a year ago, and I find myself there at least once a week for something or other. Besides, where else can you pick up cold medication, the latest DVD, some drill bits, a yoga mat, a capo for your guitar, some undies, and a dozen eggs?

60. I "heart" Target
Great, great store. Wide aisles, clean, eclectic stuff. We didn't have a lot of money to furnish my daughter's dorm room but got everything we needed for a little over $100! And that included all of the bedding, towels, make-up mirror, lamp, phone, clock radio. And the stuff wasn't crap like at W*Mart. They also have a great selection of anti-Bush cards and a great book section. I love this store.

My daughter, a freshman at a Boston college and from a tiny town in Maine, was worried about what the other dorm mates would think, but she got so many compliments on her stuff. Her color theme was pink and brown and that was just a hit with her city floormates.
