I have to go to a Catholic Mass
I asked my mom what she wanted for mother's day....she said all I want is for you to come to church with me at least once...sigh....

so next week I'm attending a mass....first one that wasn't a funeral or wedding in about 10 years.... I'm not looking forward to it, but I'll do it for my mom

5. Definitely no Communion
Wouldn't that be a mortal sin? After all the mortal sins of not attending Mass?

7. yes
oddly, since I don't consider myself Catholic anymore, one of the reasons I'm not taking commumion is because I know its a mortal sin when you haven't been to mass or confession....

some things just haunt you forever....

11. I know what you mean
I personally would avoid Communion for that very reason. Weird!

15. it's only a mortal sin if it fulfills three conditions
Catholic theology teaches that three conditions must exist for the commission of a mortal sin:
1) Grievous matter
2) Sufficient reflection
3) Full consent of the will

If you don't believe that your actions fulfill these three conditions, it's not a mortal sin, no matter what. Of course, then you get into the argument about people not believing murder is a mortal sin...soooooo

14. honey, you don't forget that stuff.
You'll know what to do. Not taking communion is a brave stand.

It's funny b/c I took a nap this afternoon (been under the weather) and was thinking about calling my mom to see what she wanted to do for M's Day and this was your mom's request was my worst vision!

2. Let us give thanks
It is right to give thanks and praise
Life up your hearts
We will lift them up to the lord

I had a Catholic girlfriend for a while. At least the blowjobs were good.

6. Funny how that's so important to some people, huh?
I mean, she'd rather have that than, say, a Maserati?

Does she want to "save" you or show you off?

10. It may not be so bad
The Prophetess' church is a liberal Catholic church. I feel comfortable there for the most part.

12. Have fun.
At least it's not me.

Instead I'm forced to take my ladies from work to a Baptist church on Sundays-every Sunday! I'd rather go to mass.

13. Mass is like riding a bicycle
you never forget.

I hadnt gone for over 15 years, and went last summer for a wedding. It all came back pretty quickly.

17. You're a good daughter.
Putting your mother's wants first is a good thing once in a while. :toast:

I hope she doesn't expect it often, that's where I would turn into a bad daughter.
