That's happened to me, too. Money in the bank, card valid, but rejected. Turned out to be a problem on the store's end, not mine or the bank's.

4. I hope so - my credit card did work fine...

It makes the most sense, though... I was able to buy gas and mum's candy earlier today; right before the store.

Still, it's freaky-deeky...

Yeah, it was probably a hiccup on their end... the clerk did say if the card should be swiped again. Very apathetic, so I should have noticed and thought "Must be a normal thing for them". :)

7. Probably not, or maybe, but I didn't ask...

I just wanted to get home and check my account.

Which is fine, though the overdraft protection changes I'd made at the bank a week ago haven't shown up yet. (A call tomorrow I shall make.)

10. i was at the supermarket last week and the system was up buy only for credit cards

which was weird, the atm was working which is also strange but they said it was just a system glich.

8. Good point, my total was $10.64 ($9.99 plus tax).

For debit cards.

Real credit cards are a different gig...

And knowing it's a visa debit card, I know why some places refuse to take them at all (surcharges made by the bank or visa or somebody... I'd presume visa since those places do take mastercard debit cards...)
