My cat just tried to have sex with me, and I'm flattered
Ivan, our ENORMOUS 22lb (no fat) tuxedo male with a head the size of a softball, was neutered over two years ago - he came to us as a stray. MommaKitty brought us her three girlbabies two years ago, and she and her girls have all been spayed and live with us. But there must be something in the air, springtime hormones flowing. Because Ivan has started to bite the necks of, and mount, several of the females, who get irritated after a minute or two and run off.

So, poor frustrated Ivan (who is definitely neutered but must really sense the springtime/renewal thing) who had just had MarilynKitty run away from him, decided to try it with me - he walked up behind me on the couch, and bit me on the neck - gently, but a definite "Now, if I can just get ahold of her, maybe this will work" kind of bite. I detached myself, and he came after me again with another bite. Then, as I was laughing hysterically and had flopped over on the couch holding my sides, he became disgusted and gave up.

But I gotta say - I am actually flattered that I was that attractive to my male cat -- and mostly I just find it incredibly interesting that he quite obviously 'gets' the difference between me and my husband, whom Ivan did not make a move on...

I thought my husband was going to pass out, he was laughing so hard.

5. that is a very funny story
And I know what you mean about being flattered. I recall the first time my cat knocked on the door and implored me to come outside and hang out with her. I was so honored!

Me? You want to hang out with me?

6. I was just so suprised another species would find me
attractive! I mean, really, a trans-species affirmation of one's looks - so very flattering.

;-)

8. Yes, there's something about springtime....
My neutered boy rescue cat has been acting weird for about a month now. Based on his eagerness (desperation?) to get outdoors, I have the feeling he used to be an outdoor cat and that he is, um, EXPERIENCED. :P

13. well, he is a supremely handsome example of male cat-ness
he's a hunka-hunka of cat flesh if I ever saw one, but I think I'll stick with my own species. I'm happily married, so I'll just break it to Ivan gently. :D

12. We once had a neutered male who went after his own niece
one could hardly blame Seanie, as Kwan Yin was a solid, shiny black stunner. It was hilarious yet pathetic to watch Sean give it the ol' college try -- until he fell off of her...

he used to bite my wrist and try to hump my arm. He quit after surgery though.

16. I had a foster kitty who humped my leg
He was still functional and hated it when I interrupted him and took him off my leg. He had been in another foster home before me but his former foster mom said he never did anything like that to her. I must be special.

You were walking around the house on all fours with your rump up in the air, weren't you? 'Fess up!

18. Very flattering, and not so weird!
When I was little we had a 20 lb. siamese (that's huge for the breed), although neutered he would still try to rule the neighborhood. He'd come home all nicked and battered. Several times my parents saw him mount female cats and give the ol' college effort!

As an adult, I also had a large neutered male cat that would follow me into the bathroom, and would pee all over everything (marking behavior). Although I lived alone, I finally had to start closing the bathroom door...
