What's the strangest gift you ever got?
My former stepmother was one of those "practical" people - the year I turned 16, I got for Christmas -

a bottle of shampoo
a bottle of conditioner
and a box of Tampax

That woman was a barrel of laughs. :eyes:

1. My sister doesn't fuck around....
My Easter baskets usually have Vodka, Porno Mags, Condoms, and a carton of smokes in them..

For Christmas I get the somewhat strange gift of 365 pairs of socks. She knows I hate to wear the same pair of socks twice.

3. a statue of a woman with a gigantic ass and her body had stars painted all over it
from my mother in law...

and she said to me..."I thought you would relate to this statue......and you are into this kind of stuff"....

it was made of balsa wood...and it was hideous and I burned it..

I also get things she would otherwise give to goodwill....

I would prefer to get nothing...

26. it was not really goddess like at all...
Edited on Wed May-09-07 07:16 PM by bleedingheart
it was too "trendy" to even have a natural look...

A Donii statue would have been far more natural and beautiful...this thing was just tacky so much like my mil

edit:...

by the way :hi: back at ya...!

I am so tired today...Mr. B out of town...and me and the kiddies are holding down the fort..

4. A supposedly very expensive ceramic bust
of a cartoony-type guy with spiky black hair, an earring, and a Stop Making Sense-size electric blue blazer. Looked like something Ted Rall would have drawn. My SIL picked it out and was very proud to have done so. That was years ago and I still don't get why she and my brother thought it was the perfect gift for me--they never said and I was too polite to ask. I think my mom sold it in a garage sale.

It may be expensive, but it's easier than using paper!!

9. A small trash can and a paint stir stick.
A wedding present from my husband's notoriously bizarre-gifting grandparents.
I actually look forward to their gifts; they're always thoroughly odd and amusing.

10. For our wedding: a platter, crusted with old food, in a box from circa 1975.
It's not that I even mind getting "vintage" gifts, but at least clean the old food off.

14. As a young child, I regifted a NASA crystal radio
Who did I regift it to? My mother.

Considering the present was originally from her father to me, she was not pleased on many levels.

29. Soap on a rope that says, "I'm a horny little devil." FROM MY GRANDMA
I got it when I was 17 in my Christmas stocking. Grandma Dora was so proud of it because it had a picture of a little devil on it, and I was "such a little devil," so she thought it was perfect; however, she somehow missed the word "horny." The best part is she told the salespeople that she was getting the soap for her grandson - I would have paid big bucks to see the expressions on their faces!
