I'm sure there's a way, but I haven't figured out how. Anyone know how?

3. There's supposed to be a way...
You can view your iPod as a disk. Like when you use it for storage rather than music.

12. Enable disk use... You can do this in iTunes..
This will make your iPod look like a hard drive.

It will show on the desktop..

Download TinkerTool
http://www.bresink.de/osx/TinkerTool.html

Within that app --> Show Hidden and System Files.. Relaunch finder.

Now your iPod will show up on the desktop. And you can go through and see the mp3/AAC files.

Double click on your iPod icon

iPod_controls -> Music

Your tunes are in the clusterfuck that is in that folder. I would drag the music folder to your desktop. Put that back into iTunes.

I'm really drunk right now... Good luck with that..

6. To make a long story short...
I cleaned up my iTunes folder and trashed a bunch of the tunes to free up some disk space. The music was on my iPod and an external hard drive. Then the external HD crashed and I lost everything on it. I used some program that was suppose to download music from my iPode to my hard drive but it only did a so-so job. Not everything was downloaded.
