Can someone please figure out what is wrong with me!
I am sooo frustrated. My GI specialist just told me my latest tests were all negative. So its back to square one on why I can't eat, get nauseaus and am losing weight. I have to make another appointment tomorrow. I might have to have yet another CAT scan. My first one was looking at my spleen and was negative. I guess they do an upper GI series I suppose. Yummy banana barium time again!:puke:
Sorry, I am just so frustrated right now and needed to vent.

1. I was very sick just like this as a child. I had some serious intestinal problems.
And being in and out of the hospital, I was around some very ill people and eventually had pneumonia. It was a rough two years for me, from about age 2-4, roughly.

Hang in there. It's rough!

3. Well, this is not medical advice...
...but, I assume they tested your blood sugar, right?

So many times, doctors overlook the obvious. My sister is a nurse and she tells me horror stories of people who were misdiagnosed, because doctors forgot to test their glucose levels, and they had diabetes for weeks before they realized a simple test could have solved the mystery. One child's blood sugar was over 1000 by the time they realized he had diabetes! :scared:

9. I know someone who had tract problems. Took him years to be diagnosed
with ciliac disease. Look it up. There may be some of the symptoms that you have.

10. They just checked for that with my colonoscopy.
Negative on that too. Damn. I hope it doesn't take years. I am incapable of working the way I feel right now.

12. I am a rank amatuer, of course, and will never give medical advice.
As a fan of the House TV show, I think everyone has an autoimmune disease.

How are your joints? Any pain?

Do you get a butterfly-shaped rash on your face?

Do you have constant fatigue?

Do you get insomnia?

Do your eye ache for no reason?

Do you fingers turn blue or white in the cold?

Do you suffer from reoccurring chest congestion?

What about frequent sinus infections?

Is there a bumpy, pink rash on your shins?

Are you puffy-looking with an unusually dark complexion for your race?

Do you have trouble concentrating or have a head full of cotton (so to speak)?

Do you have type I insulin-dependant diabetes?

These are all auto-immune symptoms.

13. Okay Dr, House (I like that show too!)
I don't have lupus- my sister has that, and I have no symptoms. I do think there is some autoimmune issue. I can't think what else would elevate my white blood cells with no fever or noticeable infection!
Sincerely,
Dr. Cameron (well I wish)
