I think he has a thyroid problem or something, but the vet doesn't. He's due for shots so we'll test him again.

Imagine what it's like when he decides he wants my pillow! He allows me one little corner of it. But he's warm and he purrs. Sigh....

I call him my "Love Bug" because he is so incredibly affectionate. He loves everyone. He flops on the floor, rolls over on his back, and looks at me (or anyone else) as if to say "well, aren't you going to rub my tummy?" He loves to have his tummy rubbed! My sister called him "Buddha Boy" and rubs his tummy for good luck.

his 'flopping' is his signal that he wants to have his tummy rubbed and play. Even now, at 24, he is still my bud, and the alpha cat (I have thre here, and my wife has number four with her in Louisiana)

I made a deal with him in 1997, after we adopted each other (he had been abused by his previous owners, who had picked him up on the street some years ago, apparently after his original owner abandoned him). I promised him that as long as I draw breath, he will have a roof over his head, all the food he wants to eat, of whatever type he wants, and a place to sleep. It took him quite a while, but he finally figured out that it was OK to curl up around dad's head. I love the old badger, and he has been pretty good at accepting other cats that we have 'adopted' after they were abandoned (two, over the past 3 years). They are all sleeping at the moment, DC on the couch, Pooky on the windowsill, and Tootsie on my reading chair.

Oh duh, I didn't answer the question about food: he loves 9 Lives stuff, but prefers the Super supper, and Turkey and giblets. I supplement it with either Meow Mix or Alley Cat dry food.

Calvin is a very big boy! He looks a bit more muscular than Sam. Sam definitely has love handles!
