1. One Tin Soldier and Billy Jack. Everything about that movie screams 70s to me.
Early Chicago and Elton John songs really take me back too.

10. I LOVE Horse with no Name.
I voted One Tin Soldier, though.

'The story it told of the river that flowed made me sad to think it was dead...'
I've always wondered what exactly that was about.

8. The 70's sorted by year:
http://www.superseventies.com/singles.html

I found that site when I was looking for the year Maggie May came out. It sruck me as I looked at it that a lot of what you listed in your poll is on this list. Lots of good stuff there:

Bill Withers doing Lean On Me. (It is one of my favorite songs ever!)
American Pie
Let's get it On (I sill love Marvin Gaye!)
Redbone (!)
David Bowie, Janice Ian and the Eagles...

Wow. Talk about a stroll down memory lane!!!

"One Tin Soldier" reminds me of the movie 'Billy Jack'.

22. Los Angeles in the 1970s was.....
.....a new apartment with gold shag carpet, flooded with daylight, and a brand-new, all-black stereo receiver sitting right on the floor, with speakers on either side, 8 feet apart, playing Rod Stewart's "Maggie May." The scratchy but soothing voice of Stewart stops for the instrumental section of the song, and at that moment the white curtain in the window billows up with a cool breeze, letting a flash of sunlight last for 2 seconds on the gold carpeting...

Yes, I know it's a Todd Rundgren song, but this is the one that is more "sevved out" as me and my friends say.

here are a couple more I remember livin' to:

Jethro Tull "Aqualung" (the whole album)

Bad Company "Bad Company"

Golden Earring: "Radar Love"

Yes "Fragile" (the whole album)

Anybody remember Sopwith Camel? And Rufus "Tell Me Somethin' Good"? I think it was on the Rags-to-Rufus album.
