Coffeenaplette turns 13 today! Woohoo! We're at ACEN!!
A great place to turn 13--surrounded by friends and thousands of costumed anime and manga characters--wild and fun! (She loves that she shares the day with Stephen Colbert--he is the family fave!)

3. Sorry, had to go. Thanks! ACEN is a huge anime/manga
convention. This year they expected 12,000 people. It was at the convention center in Rosemont. It was wild! Everyone dresses up as favorite characters from shows, movies, or books and everyone is happy! There are lots of panels with artists, performers, producers, etc. and lots of art. Events run from Friday through Sunday, almost 24 hours. Ages run from about 12 up to 70! Some people bring little kids, but I wouldn't suggest it. This was DD's first convention--she took 3 friends plus her brother and a friend of his. We all stayed together and I was shuttler-in-chief! She is a very happy, tired teenager tonight!

Best wishes to you! m.

6. Oh, a friend of mine always went to that show with her nieces and nephew....
We emailed each other on Friday and she didn't mention it, so I guess they didn't go this year. Those kids are growing up. But they loved it and always had a great time!

:hi:

5. Oh geesh
I remember the teens
:grouphug: :grouphug:
I do not envy you......
I hope they are awesome
BUT our daughter gave us a hard time in high school....
her and I are BESTEST friends now, when she hit 18 it was like a total transformation. she is 24. graduated college and is engaged and is the mother of the cutest bulldog in the world!!! (lol)
DO NOT BE AFRAID, SET BOUNDARIES AND ASK THE HARD QUESTIONS.....
its a scarey time.....and peer pressure is horrible
I mean it, we had a "bear your soul night" where the kids could tell us what they needed to without getting in trouble
You will be surprised what they will tell you.....
enjoy your children......they are love

Happy Birthday Coffeenaplette!!!!
