Enough with the cat threads already!
Why can't there be more threads for animals other than cats?

What about the duck-billed platypus? The blue-footed booby? The ring-tailed lemur?

How much more can people write about cats?

Bring on the posts about hermit crabs, bearded dragons or pot-bellied pigs.

3. Well, you could
do a search on Yaks, to start with; cats aren't the only critter beloved by DU!

4. It's not their fault!
Their cats make them write these threads.

BTW, I love cats, but I can't get one to own me as long as I have this Chow-beast.

6. This is my pet clock.

His name is Julio (Hoo-lee-yoh) and he is an American Office Round Face.
He is very affectionate and gets along well with other clocks, regardless of breed.
He is primarily an indoor clock, but is ocassionaly allowed out of doors with a harness and leash.
He likes ferrets.

7. Cats are too much like women...
and there can never be enough said about them.

They are demanding, enticing, and mysterious.

And they purr.

9. Watch it, treasonous. You're bordering on Rick Santorum territory there.
I'm getting an erotic vibe about cats from your post.

13. Erotic, perhaps...
but not sexual.

I wasn't thinking erotically, but now that you mention it, eroticism is entirely an intellectual excercise, unlike fetishism, or a number of other isms that involve arousal. Cats are loaded with erotic symbolism.

How 'bout this--

Cats are the liberal pet. They are independant and demand that you negotiate with them. They are difficult, often impossible, to train, and perform few useful tasks except simply being there. They do not automatically grant you affection, or even acknowledge your existence, but you have to earn their trust.

Dogs, on the other hand, automatically love their masters and have little other purpose in life than to do their bidding. They are workers, often slaves, and are perfect for Republicans who see themselves as masters of the universe.

Birds, snakes, gerbils, ferrets, and other critters are another discussion entirely.

12. "more threads for animals other than cats" -- So start one. Sheesh.
And don't ask "how much more people can write about cats." If you honestly wonder, you really don't want to find out. You may as well ask how much people can write about love.
