Your ship is sinking! You only have time to save one....
Would you pick your music, your cat or your weed?

5. I have to agree Gopisevil
Our cat is just the household pest repellant with no emotional attachment to it. We are one of the few austin households that don't have a stash. So I guess my 8 track collection would be it!

So, I would save my dog.

3. cat
But I have 2 cats. I'd put them both in one carrier and save them both.

Weed is replaceable (not that I smoke, anyway)
Music is too- see threads on Kazaa/limewire, etc...

But I'd rub the bag of weed against my head to build up static, and then stick it to the cat for safekeeping.

9. Grief...
1. No pets allowed on warships.

2. No weed, either.

3. To play the music, you'd have to take a tape deck or something; keeping the thing dry and operational while you scramble for a raft would be a pain, then with 20+ other guys in the raft, odds are someone would violently object to my choice of music...

I'll stick with what I've got:
Flares, signal light, universal translater (pub 102), and clean out my snack drawer...

42. NOT a hypothetical question
for me. I live on a ship too much of the time, and planning on what to take with me if the ship sinks is part of the job description.
What I listed (except for raiding the snack drawer) is what I am required to bring if we man the lifeboats.

26. O'come one! Cats are expendable.
You can get another cat overnight just by leaving a can of tuna fish open on your porch. Who could get an attachment to a thing like that? I think I'd have more of a bond with my goldfish.

48. Tell me you're kidding!!!
If not, you don't know cats by a *long* shot.

My cat's here with me now as I type -- he was a rescue -- a dog bit his left rear leg when he was a kitten, and the vet he was taken to by the rescue group certainly didn't think the cat was expendable. The leg was amputated, and this life-loving cat met the vet halfway and hung on. And I'm so glad he did.

This great little "tripod" guy follows me around the house, plays a terrific game of fetch, keeps me company when I work or read, etc. He gives quite a bit more than a goldfish, needless to say.

Sorry, but you're all the poorer for not enjoying and appreciating this type of cross-species bond with a loving, grateful, trusting animal.

28. Bear with me here - All three
I jam the CD down the cat's tail, this doubles as a signal mirror, I then smoke up the weed and blow it into the cat's lungs, and then jump in the water with the cat, who now acts as an airbag.

When we get picked up by a Korean fishing boat, I let the cat exhale, getting me high, trade the cd for a couple fish (since we both have the munchies) and live happily ever after.

/stupid, but hey, it's the lounge

35. My pet
I have dog, who I have bonded with. I know that some people also bond with their pet cats.
If it is someone else's ship, I can always sue them and have plenty of money to buy more cds and weed. If I had enough money to buy a ship and assuming that I'm nopt getting sued, I'd have plenty of money to replace those other things as well.
A pet is irreplaceable. Sure you could get another cat, but not the one you had.

46. Your asking the wrong person.
I'd take the cat; I've been weed-free for almost 3 decades, and I can sing, hum, and drum on anything around if I need music.

But I wouldn't be the one making the decision here. Ask the cat. Would he take me, his food dish, or his litterbox?

I say me. Because he can catch his own food easily. And, stranded on an island, he won't need the litter box. There's plenty of sand. He will need, however, a raft to get to the island without dampening his royal fur. That would be me.

Although I would be tempted to try to take two things: the cat and the weed. When it came down to it though the cat comes first. I love my cats. I love ganja too, but you can replace it, can't replace the cat.
