You know you're getting old when...
you don't recognize a single name in the latest edition of Passages in People Magazine.

5. Not old, but older
when you stop checking out the "chicks" and start checking out their mothers.

NOTICE: Use of the word "chicks" is copyright and used solely because I am a product of my times and is not meant to demean any person of the female gender in any way. Unless that person is Britney Spears or Paris Hilton. They should be demeaned to the full extent of the possible, although they seem to be doing a fine job without outside help.

7. You know you're getting old when...
You tell your nephew and niece about the "good old days" playing 2-dimensional video games, before they were born. :-)

8. this year as part of my work on campus
at the U of AZ we got to put on a Voter registration concert. Everybody was all excited to meet the band afterward. I never heard of them until that week. I actually left a little early and went home. I mean, I'm about 10 years older than most of the people I worked with, like I know anything about these new bands. Even for my age I'm old school. I went to high school in the 90s but I dig 70s music. :)

9. I'm old
The last time I read "People" magazine was because my heartthrob was in it, a middle-aged public servant. The biggest thrill for me nowadays is the hearing schedule of various government committees!

No boy bands, pro athletes, or movie stars for me. They're just too hip.

Julie
mid-40's, can you imagine what I'll be like after 50? Even more boring than I am NOW!

10. Don't confuse...
...fly-by-night pop culture with true "hipness" or "cool." They're not the same at all.

Brando, Miles and Coltrane will always be "cool." Eminem? Not so much.
