I'm getting ready to go on an interview today at 4:30, and I have a second interview with a place tomorrow morning at 9:00. Wish me luck.

I'm sorry to hear about the unemployment. I hope both places want to hire you, and you get to choose which one you want.

11. Thanks; sorry to be a buzz killer.
I was totally fucked over in January by an employer I'd been working for for only four months (I left a job I was at for 7 years to take that one (more money, promised promotion, etc.). They let me go without any reason (at-will state).

31. Update:
Had an interview yesterday with company X; I think it went well. I'm hoping I get that job (liked the guy, the job sounds remotely interesting, etc.).

I had a second interview today for company Y. One thing that ticked me off was they had me wait an hour and 40 minutes for someone to show up (he was caught in traffic) to meet me for 20 minutes. Company Y called my references, and just offered me the job. I told them I wanted to take the weekend to think about it.

Here's the scoop:

1. It's 45-50 minutes away from my home.
2. The offer wasn't that great, monetarily ($9,700 less than I was making at my last job (I was there for only 4 mos. before I was let go (not for wrong-doing), and about $3,200 less than the job I had before that (and I was earning that salary for the past 3 years)).
3. No health insurance or vacation accrual for 90 days.
4. No flex time. If I need an hour or so for an appt. per month, no biggie. Otherwise, the guy said he couldn't do anything about it. Being that the job is so far from home, that's no good (I tend to have maybe 2 appts. a month, so that would mean an hour to commute, back and forth.).

21. 8th and the 23rd here.
August is my next 3 paycheck month. 3 paycheck months are special because insurance does not get deducted out of the 3rd paycheck.

Depends on the calendar. Twice a year, it's a nice bonus, if you're on a budget, I can pretend that it's free money.

38. Actually, I get paid every week
I guess that it will be a five pay check month. When I worked for temp agencies I also got paid every week as I did at another company I worked for. We have a friend who gets paid every week, who doesn't like it, because all the money tends to disappear before he has a chance to pay off the big bills. I like it because getting money more often means that there is more of a chance that we'll have money when we need it.

39. I get paid once a month, on the 1st
The only problem is sometimes the 1st falls on a weekend so I don't get paid until a day or two later. A real problem when paying rent.

The rest of the month I get to watch my balance dwindling.
