What to do today?
It's day 3 of our weekend, up early again. Yesterday we hit the beach, Saturday we shopped....Hmmm. Maybe we'll buy kites and go fly them. Or play frisbee at the park. Or cook. Or be lazy bastards. :P

What are you doing on this fine Memorial Day?

:hi:

3. Unfortunately, I need the money right now.
I called in late today. I hate sitting at a computer all day long dealing with useless shit like who watches what on tv.

7. You would not believe what people watch
The ratings are based on 80+ year olds and the unemployed. Wheel of Fortune, that dumb Texas Ranger show, repeats of Sanford & Son, Fox News. It makes me sick and depressed.

10. Yes. The unemployed and elderly just lurve that show.
Thank god these people don't vote. I know this because they never leave the damn house. TV on all day and night.
I gotta split and go see who is watching what today.

9. Going to Renaissance Festival (Georgia)
this is the 2nd to last weekend and freaky Monday, where weird events (like the Peasants' Revolt one year) happen. It'll be hot, and fun, and I'll be in tights. :silly:

42. Back home
Thank you! I didn't think that anyone here would remember. That's why I wasn't able to audition for this season.

Today was mischevious Monday, where the off-the-wall out-of-century events can happen, like the resident Renfest band doing a tribute to the Beatles (in wigs and black shirts) and the like.

And cutting the lawn. I went on vacation for 8 days and I swear it grew six inches. I'm going to cut, trim, weed, and plant, plant, PLANT.

16. I did, I did, I DID!
I just love NE. I wanted to stop at every garden center and nursery to look at plants but they wouldn't have survived the trip so that's today's mission. Besides, we bought so much in Mystic, Newburyport, and Freeport that there wasn't one more inch to spare in the car.

(Visited Boston last summer. That, too, is beautiful).

19. The weather's turned majorly crappy here.
Obviously it's not Memorial Day here, but we get the last Monday in May off from what used to be Whitmonday.

We were having gorgeous weather as well (other than it caused the wimps at work to switch the air-conditioning on, which I don't like).

23. The day after Whitsunday
Which is an old name for Pentecost, the second most important Christian feast after Easter - just like we get Easter Monday as a holiday, Whitmonday was a holiday until the '70s when it was moved to the last Monday in May to make it less variable.

38. Indeed!
It was yucky, but now it's sparkling clean, as is the sink. And I hung the new shower curtains and put down the no-slip thingies, and I'm good to go. Happy bathroom now. How'd the room cleaning go?

27. Writing
and drinking.

I managed to get myself a 5-day weekend, so I don't hafta go back til Wednesday. I still feel ripped off, though, because I had an excruciatingly painful pinched nerve in my left shoulder on Friday, and I spent half the day at the doctor's. All better now, though, and plenty able to hoist those mojitos.

32. Laundry
Finally talked hubby into letting me take the electric blanket off the bed. Grocery shopping (with, maybe, a detour to the bookstore). Waiting around for the tree trimmer guys to show up. Thinking up an excuse to not go visit Mommie Dearest.

33. Had a garage sale Sat and Sun.
Today I am hanging out by myself, in the solitude of my bookstore. Got a whole bunch of new books to enter into the inventory and put on the shelves. But taking my time, kicking back with tunes and ciggies and dew, and enjoying the quiet of no kids, no wife, no dog.

Later I may go home and BBQ steaks for me and the dog.

Tonight is not yet planned. I'm off tomorrow too.

35. Laundry
We spent most of the weekend at my in-laws and he has to work today. No money for jack squat. Kids are bored (except for my girl who's 15 and has her own social life now). I need to run on the treadmill, but I don't want to. I think I'm PMSing now because I feel a little  (ugly, icky, gloomy) and there's no reason why I should.
