Why do kids have to make so much noise?
asks non-parent whose neigbor kid is making meaningless repetitive noise in the driveway which she is afraid is going to continue for 15 years.

1. They're learning about the world
Kids love repetition. The kid's found a new sound and is getting used to it.

2. I can't stand the mother
She is a total bitch.

Our houses are way too close.

But I'd never say a word, because he's a kid, and its not his fault who is mother is and he's just being a kid. He doesn't have a dad. But the baby noises were easier on my ears than the 4 year old noises!

3. Having raised two of them...they realize that , at this tender age,
if they stop appearing cute to mom and dad for any length of time they're likely to get their fat little necks wrung... :D

5. This one has no siblings
and I know of no other kids in the neighborhood right now. I think he needs a playmate.

4. They're just being kids.
I'm sure we were noisy at that age.

7. It's when they get quiet that you have to worry
At least with the noise, you have a general idea what they're up to..but silence..oh boy!

I do understand about the repetitive noise though..one neighbor's kid played basketball every morning by 8:00am and every night before bed..thump thump thump..he shoots, he scores..crowd cheers..whistles, scores announced. Yes..he did all the sound effects too. He was player, announcer, crowd etc. That lasted for nearly 8 yrs. I'm so glad he's grown.
