***News from Khashka***
To all his many friends.....

He called me today and told me that he will shortly be back among us!

He now is the proud owner of a Mac titanium laptop!

He had lost his old one in a devastating apartment fire last January....

He nearly didn't get out either... :scared:

But now he is in a lovely new apartment, and soon, he will be back among us!

Hopefully in the next couple of days!

Celebrate with me!

Yeah, the fire was really bad....the building was a total loss...

He lost essentially everything....except his car, the clothes on his back, and a few things in the car...

It has taken a long time to get his life put back together......

I asked him if I could do this thread, and he was very enthusiastic!

He'd better come back tomorrow or the next day....

Or else I'll look like a complete fool! :blush:

He did say he had to set the laptop up...and then he'd be here...

17. OMG!
That's horrible. It's really tough coming back from a fire. My brother and SiL had a fire in 2002. They moved back into their rebuilt home just before last xmas.

So, my heart goes out to Khash. Did he say anything about his Dad? Was he staying with him? I was just wondering.

20. It is tough coming back from such a devastating loss...
He stayed with his parents for about 6 weeks, IIRC, after the fire, while he apartment shopped...

It was the best solution, but of course there were tensions...

They are good people, but very different from their son...
