1. I feel an enigmatic sadness that is somehow trite, even when I display my love for animals

No way you can find one for that.

7. Hmmm...interesting...you seem to be somewhat of a connoisseur...
"Meat Is Murder"

Heifer whines could be human cries
Closer comes the screaming knife
This beautiful creature must die
This beautiful creature must die
A death for no reason
And death for no reason is murder

And the flesh you so fancifully fry
Is not succulent, tasty or kind
Its death for no reason
And death for no reason is murder

And the calf that you carve with a smile
Is murder
And the turkey you festively slice
Is murder
Do you know how animals die ?

Kitchen aromas arent very homely
Its not comforting, cheery or kind
Its sizzling blood and the unholy stench
Of murder

Its not natural, normal or kind
The flesh you so fancifully fry
The meat in your mouth
As you savour the flavour
Of murder

No, no, no, its murder
No, no, no, its murder
Oh ... and who hears when animals cry ?

9. Shouldn't do that sort of thing alone...
With the world's fate
Resting on your shoulder
You're gonna need
Someone on your side

You can't do it by yourself
Any longer
You're gonna need
Someone on your side
Someone kindly told me
That you'd wasted
Eight of nine lives

Oh, give yourself a break
Before you break down
You're gonna need someone on your side

And here I am
And here I am
Well, you don't need
To look so pleased !

Day or night,
There is no difference
You're gonna need someone on your side

Day or night,
There is no difference
You're gonna need someone soon

And here I am
And here I am
Well, you don't need

10. I was on the verge of posting something really obnoxious about how I did that hike alone
Then I remembered that I did run out of water and had to rely on the kindness of strangers, and that knowing loved ones were waiting for me at the trail head helped me persevere

4. Bengali in Platforms
engali, Bengali
Bengali, Bengali
No no no
He does not want to depress you
Oh no no no no no
He only wants to impress you
Oh..

Bengali in platforms
He only wants to embrace your culture
And to be your friend forever
Forever

Bengali, Bengali
Bengali, Bengali
Oh, shelve your Western plans
And understand
That life is hard enough when you belong here

A silver-studded rim that glistens
And an ankle-star that ... blinds me
A lemon sole so very high
Which only reminds me; to tell you
Break the news gently
Break the news to him gently
"Shelve your plans; shelve your plans, shelve them"

Bengali, Bengali
It's the touchy march of time that binds you
Don't blame me
Don't hate me
Just because I'm the one to tell you

That life is hard enough when you belong here
That life is hard enough when you belong here
Oh...
Shelve your Western plans
Oh...
Shelve your Western plans
'Cause life is hard enough when you belong
Life is hard enough when you belong here
Oh...
Shelve your Western plans
Oh...
Shelve your best friends
'Cause life is hard when you belong here
Oh...

6. But sir! A nap beckoned me!
From "Seasick, Yet Still Docked":

Tonight I've consumed much more than I can hold
Oh, this is very clear to you
And you can tell I have never really loved
You can tell, by the way, I sleep all day

12. Well I Wonder - no wait
hahahahahaha

One of my favorites:

Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
And they're young and alive
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one
Anymore

Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people and I
Want to see life
Driving in your car
Oh, please don't drop me home
Because it's not my home, it's their
Home, and I'm welcome no more

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Take me out tonight
Take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
And in the darkened underpass
I thought Oh God, my chance has come at last
(But then a strange fear gripped me and I
Just couldn't ask)

Take me out tonight
Oh, take me anywhere, I don't care
I don't care, I don't care
Driving in your car
I never never want to go home
Because I haven't got one, da ...
Oh, I haven't got one

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten-ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure - the privilege is mine

Oh, There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out
There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out

13. that one IS my favorite...
Edited on Mon Jun-04-07 08:29 AM by ThinkBlue1966
I have all sorts of great memories revolving around "The Queen Is Dead" as a whole, including a certain cassette copy, once owned by my ex, that kept following me, and ended up back in my possession several times.

My most recent amusement is in finding out that i am indeed the "eighteenth pale descendent of some old queen or other."

My father's father's family has been confirmedly traced back to James IV and Margaret Tudor of Scotland.

I don't know how much of it I believe, but this guy put a lot of work into this.

16. The thing about the the accident and the "light that never goes out" is dead creepy...
*shudders*
i just sat here reading some if this, and obviously a lot of it is reaching for coincidence.
Spome of it is spot on, though... and makes it all the weirder.

Thanks for the link :-) That's the most bizarre place i'll go all day!

18. Yes, it is creepy
Morrissey said in an interview that he saw a ghost in England in 1989, but I don't know if he claims any psychic abilities. This is mostly very coincidental, but you're right that some things about it are really creepy.

17. The Father Who Must Be Killed
Stepchild, you have outlived your time
You represent embarrassment and failure
And the father who must be killed
Is the blight upon your blighted life
And his might is his legal right
To ground you down

Stepchild, with every petty swipe
You just might find you're fighting for your life
And the father who must be killed
Is a step farther but nonetheless
The way he chews his food
Rips right through your senses

Stepchild, there's a knife in a drawer in a room downstairs
And you, you know what you must do
So the stepchild ran with a knife to his sleeping frame
And slams it in his arms, his legs, his face, his neck and says
"There's a law against me now"
And the father who must be killed
With his dying breath, he grabs her hand
And he looks into her eyes
He says "I'm sorry" and he dies

"Stepchild, I release you
With this broken voice I beseech you"

"Why are lives so short?"
The stepchild thought heart pointing to the sky
"No warm to warm me
No hand to touch me
And no Bible-Belters to mess with me
Momma don't miss me
Momma don't miss me
This death will complete me"
"But where I go there will be no one to meet me
I know there will be no one to meet me"
But still the step-child press the knife to her throat
Heart pointing to the sky
"Just as mother-less birds fly high
Then so shall I
So shall I
So shall I
So shall I
So shall I

20. Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want
Good times for a change
See, the luck Ive had
Can make a good man
Turn bad

So please please please
Let me, let me, let me
Let me get what I want
This time

Havent had a dream in a long time
See, the life Ive had
Can make a good man bad

So for once in my life
Let me get what I want
Lord knows, it would be the first time
Lord knows, it would be the first time

24. There's A Place In Hell For Me And My Friends
There is a place
Reserved
For me and my friends
And when we go
We all will go
So you see
I'm never alone
There is a place
With a bit more time
And a few more
Gentler words
And looking back
We will forgive
(We had no choice
We always did)
All that we hope
Is when we go
Our skin
And our blood
And our bones
Don't get in your way
Making you ill
The way they did
When we lived
Oh, there is a place
A place in hell
Reserved
For me and my friends
And if ever I
Just wanted to cry
Then I will
Because I can
