You know something else I like about the lounge?

The way people have this unwritten code of what's ok fodder for copycats and what's not.

It doesn't have to be as heavy as death or job loss. Folks just seem to lay off serious roommate troubles, child rearing issues, job woes, insecurities in the dating scene, pride in a child's progress to adulthood...those sorts of things.

No matter how torrid and bawdy (now there's a word you don't hear every day)things might get, this bottom line of mutual respect just seems to pulse along, day in and day out.

But I can't recall a single time I thought a copycat was in poor taste b/c the OP dealt w/ the DUer's humanity--and that garners respect here.

I originally came to DU for the political talk. Now I spend my time in either The Lounge or Photography.

Maybe it's my "addictive personality" that keeps me in the lounge. :D
