Cancer question
My best friend's father is in trouble. Would any health care professionals be able to answer this question.

How long before someone passes that has cancer in throat, brain, liver & kidney? There is bleeding in the brain.

While I was in the room today, a student Dr. said that he could survive up to 6 months in this condition, is that bullshit?

Thank you, and I'm sorry to dampen people's spirits, but the family was told that he wouldn't survive the first night, today 6 mos?

I am soo confused.

1. I am not a health care professional,
but every case if unique. Your friend's father must be in a lot of pain -- also your friend. Good luck to him/her.

2. What do you mean by this?
"Thank you, and I'm sorry to dampen people's spirits, but the family was told that he wouldn't survive the first night, today 6 mos?"

4. I am just so confused
I was thanking people who would respond to my question. The family has been told since last Wednesday that he could pass at anytime. But I was in the room today when the student Dr. said that he could survive for up to 6 mos.

They have been there everyday since he was admitted. And the Dr. today said that it had spread to his liver & kidneys, and no one had mentioned that till today.

I am just confused and trying to make since out of what is going on.

5. They need some straight talk from the main doctor.
One of the most exasperating experiences I ever had was getting conflicting medical information about my mom's condition while she was in a teaching hospital. Go to the source and don't let yourself be brushed off because the doctor is really busy or surrounded by a flock of students. Just my 2 centavos.

7. thank you
I had a similar experience with the same hospital a few years ago, when my father had mini-strokes. I forgot about that.
