I was laid-off yesterday

Company restructure, both me and my boss (whom I've work for for 10+ years at two companies). Heard through the grapevine that 17 people were let go in various depts. The industry is closely tied to construction and housing so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Still, the first time in almost 20 years I've been without a job....but hey, the economy is great! :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

Having been terminated in January for the audacity to have a short term disabling injury, I am most sympathetic.

3. Sorry to hear that

I've seen my former company do the same thing to two employees. Both had to go on short term disability, after they returned to work they were terminated within 2 months. Probably took that long for the company to find something it could use for "cause". Anyway, hope you are better now!

7. I'm OK now.

arm has healed, new job and all that.

Cost me 6 thou in lost vaca and health expenses: they backdated my termination date and cancelled my health insurance even though I'd paid for it.
