I just finished explaining a project to my summer intern who was doing all she could not to laugh at me when I explained that I am picky to the point of weirdness when it comes to how I want these ledger sheets laid out; that I would rather she threw sheets away rather than correct them manually and it got me thinking about other weirdo habits or quirks that I might have.
I am so fussy about uniform handwriting that I print everything because I can make my script even enough.
I hate doodling to the point that I laminate all common materials so nobody can write on them.
I have to read the paper in order and put it all back together in order.
My SO, on the other hand, tops me in all categories; he washes ice from the freezer before putting it in a drink because he's convinced it has some strange freezer contaminant....
I always start with the main course, followed by the side dishes. Even with drive-through. If I get a drive through order, it's hamburger first, followed by the fries. I always finish one before moving on.
Mostly on stairs but sometimes I just keep going. I suddenly realize that I've counted 487 steps and make myself stop. I know how many steps are in every flight of stairs I use regularly. :eyes:
I also have to have things symmetrical. If I put something down on a tiled countertop, for example, it has to be precisely placed so that there's an equal amount of tile on all sides. I straighten pictures in restaurants and other people's homes.
7. I won't put my bare feet on the bottom of a lake, ocean, or pond.
I won't do it. :scared: Jeebus only knows what muck is down there and whether or not I'll get cut or bitten. I'll wear deck shoes or flip-flops, but I won't go barefoot into a body of water where I can't see the bottom. :(
