4. Count backwards from 100
while breathing deeply and slowly. If you're at home, go sit in a hot shower. These are the things I do when I'm having an attack. Hot shower works wonders.
You know-I think a hot shower is a cure for just about anything!]

5. i recently started doing the same thing
i found if i can focus on the sound and feel of the water i calm down, at least for a few minutes.... sometimes that is enough to focus on my breathing again

i get them all the time. take deep slow breaths. avoid hyperventilation, it makes the rest of the symptoms worse. remind yourself that you are okay and it will be over soon. :hug:

7. Step away from the computer, close your eyes,
breathe deeply and focus on the sounds of your breaths.
Picture your muscles relaxing with your steady, deep breathing.
Imagine you are going, in slow motion, down a staircase and each step you take helps your relax more deeply.

8. Square breathe....
inhale (thru nose) to count of 4, hold for 4 seconds, exhale thru mouth for 4 seconds,wait 4 seconds and repeat the cycle. This really helps me.

11. Someone once told me a quote about panic attacks
The sufferer, who was a long-time skydiver, said that he would rather take his chances leaping from a plane sans parachute than suffer another panic attack.

They sound positively nightmarish.
