I was lucky enough to have driven one, as well as a Volga and a Moskova...

Strange, for cars that didn't go fast, they had one fuck of a lot of torque..

3. I saw the one used in the U2 video on display at World of Music in Munich.
It had an extra cool paint job and was displayed in front of an outdoor wall of about 50 video screens all of which were playing the U2 video. I have a picture somewhere.

I saw people driving them in Munich in the early 1990s When it was just a year or so post-fall of wall it was allowable to drive them in the western part of Germany because of an exception for the former East Germans who had nothing else to drive.
