Thinking about converting a Trabant to an Electric Vehicle

I'm thinking about this - the car is small and lightweight enough to work, and Trabants are actually pretty cheap to buy used, even if they are collectors items.

So would someone who knows a bit about EVs tell me if I'm way wrong, or if I'm onto something?

1. There are a few of them hanging from the ceiling at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame...

in Cleveland (as of the last time I went in there..approx 10 years ago).
The car had nice dimensions -not too small- but small enough.

lol...but seriously they were meant to do small driving under any conditions. The original engines on those Volgas could run of kerosene
