Quick Bonnie Raitt story. There was a nightclub in Huntington Beach, CA in the 60's and 70's called "The Golden Bear" that never did any advertising except on the marquis. Oftentimes REALLY big names would perform there along with local musicians (I had the privilege a few times) -- great place! Anyway, I was in the audience one night when Paul Butterfield was playing and he introduced a new talent. In walks this very diminutive red-head that played the meanest, baddest bottleneck guitar I'd ever heard. Needless to say, it was Bonnie Raitt. She had just put out her first album which I went out and bought the next day. Anyway, it was a cool experience.
