Edited on Sun Jun-17-07 05:32 AM by RagingInMiami
Does Mick have it going on or what? And what about Keith?

"The Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World."

3. I've never been a fan, either.
Though I acknowledge their important role in the early days of rock and roll, I've never thought they were any better than average musicians.

16. I don't like 'em either
I mean, they have a few songs I really like, but I just have no interest in them either as a band or as a cultural icon. I have a friend who spends hundreds of dollars to go see "Mick and the boys" but I just don't get it. :(

And from everything I've seen, their live show is terrible. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy playing.

2. Okay, all those brats ever did was jump hyperactively on stage and snort drugs.
And in one bandmember's case, apparently his father too.

How come they're like 90 years old and are as coherent as they were on day 1?

Grace Slick snorted up drugs with the best of them and she's been anti-drug ever since, nor can I blame her.

Having said all that, their music is fresh and original... but many of the lyrics were fairly in-your-face for the time... fortunately, there's enough colloquialism and euphemism involved to allow creative thinking. You know, like saying "Ah, 'Satisfaction'! He's talking about his job. Okey dokey! And didn't Microsoft buy that song so they could use it to peddle 'Windows 95' back on August 24, 1995 and no I did not google that release date?"

12. The blues is in their sould and blood
And just like the old blues men they tried to emulate when they were younger, they are still jamming even though they are senior citizens. If I have half the energy Jagger has when I reach my sixties, I would be a lucky man.

Is your username inspired by the Stones' song?

6. The first clip looked like a joke...
Guess I'm used to higher production values, but for the first few seconds, I thought it was some kids doing a YouTube parody of the stones doing HTW. About 1/2 speed and not tight at all.

Reminded me of the inspired Yacht Rock parody. Episode 1 of 10 is here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=jMTI8vg7A5U

11. I've never thought they were the greatest band, but...
Richards is the greatest rhythm guitarist in rock history. Their claims to greatness rest squarely on his coattails.

17. Keef has been dead for years
it's a well-known fact he died some time in the late 60s and is now some sort of zombie. He drinks a pint of fresh baby's blood each morning and snorts his dad's ashes every few years to keep "alive".
