Just back from Vacation - with a warning.........

If you want to go to Myrtle Beach, SC, DO NOT Stay at the Myrtle Beach Resort. They had faulty Fire Alarms in their 22 story tower. They switched the fire alarm system off to alleviate the problem and then, I read in the Myrtle Beach Sun News the next morning that the beach in front of the resort is among the most polluted beaches in the USA with the percentage of samples exceeding national health standards at 51% - we left and stayed at my Dad's up the coast in Wilmington, NC - an exceptionally pleasant little town. Combine that with folks shooting fireworks at the upper floors of the tower, a complete absence of support staff and only one or two elevators working at any one time, you have the biggest fiasco of a place I've ever been.

By the way - I saw a hell of a lot of Hybrid vehicles toodling around Wilmington, NC....also, they have a great live music scene and splendid restaurants. It's kind of a bargain lovers version of Charleston, SC.
