Twenty years ago at this very moment....

I was heading into Bloomington, MN, to pick up a car I'd recently bought from a guy at work. I had no idea that just hours later, after fighting rush hour traffic across the Cedar Avenue Bridge back to Burnsville, MN, and having an English muffin for supper, I would go into labor, alone in my apartment.

What happened between the beginnings of active labor and my actually getting to the hospital are a long story better left for my blog and not a messageboard post, but yes, tomorrow is the 20th birthday of my first baby.

She was born at 1:29AM on June 18th, 1987.

I've been having some memories today that have been somewhat painful, things I have specifically avoided remembering for a while (not to do with the day before Kayla was born, but connected nevertheless), and just generally feeling weird.

Mother's day was especially painful for me this year.
