Black & Decker appreciation thread!

I bought one Thursday.

I just tried it.

It couldn't cut through warm butter.

It's getting returned.

The store should be lucky I'm washing it out.

Of course it's Wal-mart.

Maybe I shouldn't wash it. :wow:

So why is this an appreciation thread? Because with a knife, I can do my own cutting, put arm muscles into use, and in all likelihood not chop off my fingers or any other appendages. I'm not that clumsy yet. :D

1. B& D is ok..
but I had a friend who's house burned down because of a B&D coffee maker. I, however, have had no problems

2. Shit.
That's another reminder to unplug any device not being used. Especially those cheap $10 coffee makers.
:(

I hope insurance covered your friend's losses.

3. That's exactly what happened..
she didn't unplug it.. Lost the whole house because of it. I think it was owned by thier church so they didn't have to worry about paying anything back, it was a sad situation :-(

4. I'm a bit paranoid about unplugging appliances
Edited on Sun Jun-17-07 10:17 PM by Scooter24
and usually just lave my electronics plugged in, but those are usually on power strips. I charge my cell phone overnight and I make sure to unplug it every morning.

I once saw a fire truck and a police officer speed past me going towards the direction of my house and the first thing on my mind was "Omigod! Did I remember to unplug xxx?"

5. This is why I appreciate Black & Decker

This is the Black & Decker plant in Fayetteville, NC, that they closed last year. Nearly 700 people out of work.

7. Quite. The quality of Chinese goods is pretty bad.

6. They make the world's best...
...toys. Nothing they make can be taken seriously as a tool. They fall apart after 4 minutes of use.
