I'm thinking about bed, but after I go to bed, I'll just have to wake up and go to work. Damn that Lotto: the little ping pong balls didn't pick my numbers AGAIN.

Glad to hear yours was good and relaxing. We were running around doing errand-y things all weekend, and we just came back from a 50th anniversary party which was lovely, but I really wanted to sit home on my ass and do nothing.

See you for Keith tomorrow. At least that's something to look forward to. Maybe he'll announce his engagement.

32. Here's me with Red Skelton
I was hired to take pictures of him backstage after one of his performances back in the late 80's. When I was done, he said to me, "What about you? Don't you want your picture taken? Nobody ever takes a picture of the photographer. Give your camera to someone else and come over here!"

What a great guy! He was so kind and warm to everyone. Just like a favorite uncle or grandfather.

Very nice guy, but the pic came out weird because he's a very white guy and was wearing a very white shirt, so the flash almost wiped him out of the pic.

Me, on the other hand, showed up, looking like a sunspot, as usual.

He was my college graduation speaker, so there was no time, obviously, but in the five seconds I spoke with him onstage, he seemed really nice.

Ironically, I do have Bush's autograph/mark of the Beast somewhere, since he came to my high school when he was running for Governor.

50. I did tower over him.
But an even better "towering story" was when I sort of met Dustin Hoffman.

He was speaking at the American Film Institute, where I was interning at the time, and he came into the library where a few of us were doing inventory.

I noticed this weird look on his face, and he ended up literally a foot away from me, asking us, "Do you know where the bathroom is?"

I'm only 5'8", but I could have easily crushed him.

held up her end in the captain's chair! Made me proud! I felt about her the way Mae Jemison (America's first black woman astronaut) was quoted as saying she regarded Nichelle Nichols.

So cool! Isn't it astonishing how far Gene Roddenberry was able to reach? Creatively, socially, scientifically, culturally, artistically, technologically - SO many different arenas! Neatest of all is how - with that galactic reach, he took us along every inch of the way. He's my hero.

I really like him, I don't know why, because he can be a jerk, and kinda ridiculous, but something about him is familiar. :hi:

81. You know, though
He's wasn't a jerk at all. This was a work event, and there were a lot of people meeting and greeting, and he gave a speech about his new album, and took questions from our employees. He knew exactly what he was talking about, and he knows exactly what he's doing, and he knows why he's doing it. Having met a lot of music people, he really stood out as a hamish guy -- but I'll give you the ridiculous part.

Most of us had preconceived notions based on his TV persona and stage character, but he dashed every one of them. And he autographed clocks for all of us.

83. I was mostly talking about the way he treated his
kids of his first wife on the "Surreal Life" when he visited his old neighborhood. And some of the ways he behaved with Brigitte Nielson, I really didn't like; I think he could fall into the 'abuser' category, at least verbally...it seemed he was into playing mind games (as she was too, they were both messed up people.) Despite all of that I feel drawn to his persona which is why I watched that show in the first place, and some of Flava of Love.

84. I have to admit
I didn't watch The Surreal Life when they were on it, but the simple fact of the two of them together is a trainwreck.

88. yes
a match made in hell, plus she was engaged to an Italian man in his mid-twenties the whole time she was messing with Flav and eventually married the guy. But there is really something wrong about the relationship with is first wife and those kids, and it came off in a really ugly way on camera. :(
