Have you ever sea kayaked on the actual sea, Squatch? I myself have not. I'm kicking around some plans to paddle lake Superior, but nothing coincrete has yet emerged.

And speaking of "Eeep"....

This is somebody I taught how to paddle this last winter.

For the record, I wasn't there on this day, so I'm none of the people listed.

5. I've done the obligatory San Juan Islands tours
when I lived in WA state. If you're ever out there, you have to check it out.

7. Yup, that's kind of the long term goal.
I'm gonna be in Ithaca for a conference this August, so I might rent a touring boat and paddle on the finger lake there. Plus I want to look into some upstate NY whitewater.

Hey, that brings up a question, have you paddled there much? And if you have, can you thnk of any good III/Iv kind of runs?

8. Check out the Black River near Fort Drum (Watertown)
Link

That's the only river I know about in NY...

3. Yikes!
I paddle on the ocean all the time, but the most we usually see are nurse sharks (fairly common) and the occasional baby blacktip.
