Are you anything like you were in High School
remember back then when you thought you had found your personality and thought it would be the same forever....you know everything

did you turn out like you expected....are you at all that same person you were back then...

I've changed by leaps and bound....the only thing that stayed the same was my compassion

1. Eh, I'm pretty much the same basic person and personality I was at 14.
Wow, that sounds boring now that I think about it. :(

2. My dear Rising Phoenix!
I am nothing like I was in high school!

Omigod!

I was, if you can believe it, shy, quiet, a true wallflower!

I had very few friends, and the ones I had were like me...

I was positive nobody would ever kiss me or love me or marry me!

I was a scared, shy girl....

Well, I went off to college, away from my parents, and how I blossomed!

I like me so much more....

:pals:

3. I still like to read a lot...
I view the use of military power much more sceptically than I did then (although I did my time in the Army).

I have gone from being pretty conservative on some things, to a much more liberal stance.

I find myself being less judgemental of others, more willing to recognize that not everyone has the same experiences in life to either bolster them or hold them back.

Oh, and I have a lot less hair...

and I've gained a couple of pounds...

Excellent signature, BTW>

:D

I was in tons of activities in HS and had a large circle of friends. I was always busy and having fun. I don't do anything now but work, sleep, work, sleep.... Definitely not the social whirlwind I used to have!

19. Yes and no
I had quite a personality overhaul in high school. So, I'm not like I was in the first part of high school, but I think I am rather like I was in the second part of high school. Of course, that was only four years ago, so things could still change :)

I was always older then my years anyway.

The funny thing is a few years ago I ran into a old high school friend and she said we both hippys.

Now that was a surprise to me because I never thought I was a hippy.

I'm still kind of shy, but I'm also not afraid to speak my mind a lot of the time

I have to in my job, but in my personal life it is getting easier too.

I was kind of a stoner back then.

I'm not now. :D

I'm just crazy

Lots of changes, growing up, maturing, maybe more jaded for sure

still hopeful though

the inevitable. Then, disillusioned adolescent. Currently, angry loner. To become, indifferent alcoholic.

I've taken a proactive approach to bridging the gap between present and future, I've started drinking alone.

24. Absolutely I have changed - and for the better.
I'm much more out-going and voice my opinion now. I like myself for who I am and wouldn't want to change one iota. I retained my compassion and it has grown over the years. Having said that - I don't let people run over me like I used to. Of course, with the aging process - one learns to choose one's battles much more carefully.

Edited on Sat Jun-23-07 12:35 AM by Fox Mulder
In high school, I used to be happy and optimistic about life and the future and the direction my life was going.

Now, I'm depressed and pessimistic and the future is looking bleak.

That person was under water and constantly struggling to swim to the surface. That person got some air in college and finally made shore a few years later.

30. Good God, no!
I was bubbly, but it only came out for people I knew. I was SO worried about what others thought of me. I was nervous about expressing opinions. I reflected my mother's conservative opinions, and parroted them without knowing what they were.

I was trapped in a terrible family situation with a mother "dating" an asshole who would eventually become my stepfather (stepmonster, in fudge terms). Going away to college in Denton was the best choice I ever made. I was exposed to lots of open-minded viewpoints, and began to see that what mom and stepmonster were peddling was utter bullshit.

Now, I could give a shit what anybody else thinks. I live my life, and I'm happy with me. And I say whatever I want to whomever I want. I'm a screaming, outspoken, pain in the ass liberal.

I'm much happier now.

36. For the most part, I'm the same person
I was very independent in high school which I still am. I was never a member of any clique but I had friends from just about any group you can think of - nerds, stoners, brains, jocks, the people everyone picked on... Just kind of did my own thing and I still do.

I was passionate about a lot of things then (led a major protest at my high school when I was a junior - made the front page of the paper and completely irritated my conservative father :) ) and I still am. I spoke my mind - still do.

I don't think I've really changed or mellowed but I have learned more over the years and maybe become a little more polished in my approach to life. But I'm the same cantankerous Yankee I've always been. :hi:

37. I'm very much like I was in high school.
I went through several phases during my 20s and 30s (born-again Christian, Republican, career woman, perfect mom wannabe), but now I'm myself again, a little more quiet, shy, and insecure than I would like to be, but I'm working on it.

I do wish my weight was the same as when I was in high school, though. That would be sweet. :-)

In high school I stayed in trouble with police/parents/teachers. Hard drinking and drugging.
Now I am about to have my masters in Library Science and would rather spend all of my time reading.
