3. oh it's that Andrew Lloyd Webber dude, he writes a lot of this stuff i.e. Cats, etc...
http://www.reallyuseful.com/rug/html/index.htm it's considered light opera, but the libretto is from a novel by Gaston Leroux, i think it was  anyway, it's still fun and i get to stick with my degree so that's cool too B-) http://www.thephantomoftheopera.com/poto/home.php

Tell 'em you're doing something "edgy" and "controversial" to prove what a genius you are.

And - congratulations! That's a heck of a good thing! :applause: :yourock:

16. Well
a big F-yeah!!!

I new you were cool that way. Serious congrats to you. Will the lights travel or do you spec 'em in advance? And how much of that stuff can you automate? Any? Do they even use MIDI in theatrical venues?

Plus, while I'm working off my coffee buzz on you and the rest of the the lounge--sorry--have you read about the complicated cuing set up they use in that Beatles "Love" show? Hardcore.

Maybe I'll go look fer it.

Coming to St. Louis?

You rock. Keep us posted on tour dates.

17. Great gig!
I cordially dislike Brightman and Weber, but feh! That will be a lot of fun. Make sure to distribute an mp3 of Pink Floyd's "Echoes" to all concerned parties with a smug, superior look on your face. :P

24. yeah, i am a sucker, but it's cool being a part of a piece that people are familiar with...
last year it was Cats & The Wizard Of Oz...Wizard was some of the very best; the first part in Kansas played in & on monochrome wardrobe & sets so that by the time you got to Munchkin-land the colors were simply dazzling, all the in between stuff very cool, right on out the doors as all the kids, young adults & adults are clapping along, stomping their feet & marching out the doors singing,

"Wee'reee off to see The Wizard, the wonderful Wizard Of Oz. You'll find he is a whiz of a Wiz! If ever a Wiz! there was..." you know the rest,

yes, we seek our outside venues, but i say theater can be mess you up/make you laugh/make you cry wonderful, homey :headbang:

26. the lighting for the Cat's - NYC touring prod company was waaaaay cool, but you're right...
Webber is a hack, a part of my brain has shut down i am sure, or withered perhaps, as a direct result of: Rum Tum Tugger, alone x( i mostly only think i terms of text, lighting & staging, so am oblivious to music as a practical matter unless i really like it, i leave music for my musician friends to clue me in, or hubby, his background is music theory, history & composition...and he considers Webber 'pop music' :hi:

Visually delicious as well.

I did some time in college theater, and Phantom was a production that i always 'wished' i could work.
