Need to vent, rant, etc.

I'm doing a project/presentation/white paper for my graduate class in public policy. Of course, I can't choose some innocuous or concise problem like the imposition of water use restrictions during the drought, Nooooo - I've got to come up with something that is "worthy" of my efforts and the class. So, I decide on healthcare. Now this might seem just a bit broad, but two of my classmates are covering mental health parity and medicare. With those topics out of the way, the job is much more manageable (NOT!)

Specifically, I am looking at an equitable health care policy.

Iknow, I know, I should see SICKO. Actually, the wife and I are going to a sneak preview this evening.

Anyway, I am trying to research all angles of this and give "equal time", as it were, to differing points of view. Nothing like being Fair and Balanced.

So far I have read a gazillion books (it seems)and essays on the health care system, health policy, politics of health care, etc., not to mention ino from various websites and journal abstracts.

Its been a little overwhelming, but I can handle it.

Until now.

So I start reading this book by Frank Musgrave, THE ECONOMICS OF U.S.HEALTHCARE POLICY: THE ROLE OF MARKET FORCES.

Now I knew that that there would be some stuff in there that I would disagree with, and even some that I might find disturbing, but this guy is trying to make my head axplode!!!! I tried to vent to my wife .... now her head is about to explode!!!
