Going to Boston for the 4th.

Gizmonic and I are leaving from Cleveland Friday night. We land in Logan at about 9:00 p.m. We visit relatives west of Worcester Sat., Sun., Mon. and Tues. We are going to the beach Monday with my sister in R.I. That will be the first time for me since the 1990s. Tuesday night we will drive to Boston where we will be staying close to Quincy Market. Wednesday is the holiday and we hope to be able to see the fireworks. Thursday a friend is visiting from Fall River. We fly back Saturday.

1. Have a great trip.

Some of the best spots to see the fireworks are the bridges over the Charles. Check at Boston.com for exact locations but they close several of them to traffic as I recall.

3. If you want to see the Boston fireworks,

check for prevailing winds. You either want to see them from the Mass Av. bridge, or the Longfellow, depending on the wind.

Otherwise, all you'll see is smoke.
