I have a mixed feeling of intense relief, deep sadness, excitement, fear, hope and impending dread...

If I may ask, you ARE going for some sort of custody...?

Don't be afraid of it. I did single parenting actually from the point the first of 3 was born: ex was uninvolved except as the "breeder." When I finally pulled out her claws (she LOVED my hospitalization insurance) I had 100% custody.

22. It went okay.
Equal custody, equal placement, equal payment of outstanding debt.

But I need to talk her into filing for joint bankruptcy now, to prevent being stuck with all the bills should she file bankruptcy later on...

I found that even though I very much wanted my divorce it was still very sad to go through. I hope you're able to amicably come up with custody and property settlements. Makes things so much easier (and cheaper than if the lawyers do it all). Best of luck.

She has a point. I wouldn't be doing law if not for my divorce -- and my boss wouldn't be a lawyer if not for hers.
