And there are different kinds of popularity. I certainly don't wanna have the popularity of the current NeoCon regime. Wouldn't wanna be Hilton, Spears or Lohan either.

It's not as good as you think it would be.

I am EXTREMELY popular.

How do I know this?

Because people say "shut up you douchebag" and "look at the head on that guy", or "just ignore him and he will leave".

Trust me...being popular is no fun.

6. It depends
If you like to go out to dinner and not be gawked at it sucks. People you have glimpsed shouting your name out in a minute mart around a lot people you don't know and then having them gawk at you. Its weird.

14. I was never popular in school, but a few years back, I found myself popular
in the local community theater scene. I guess because I was reliable and easy to work with (it couldn't have been because of my acting! :+ )

Popularity, contrary to what you might think, was actually humbling. I enjoyed it.

All my life, I haven't been popular...

Until I came to DU, to the Lounge...

And now I think I am popular...

Of course, not everyone likes me...

But so many come into my threads and tell me how much they like my pics, or my poems, or whatever...

And lots of times those people are unknown to me!

It is amazing, and wonderful!

I'd have to say that for me, it's a blessing... :hide:
