I GOT A PROMOTION!!!! LET'S CELEBRATE!!!!!

I was interviewed Tuesday, and was told I would know by the end of the week. Today is my day off, but the HR rep called me anyway with the offer. :D

5% pay raise and a job far better suited to my abilities. :bounce: PLUS, back to having normal M-F days and hours.

17. Damn. I miss that sort of drink.

When I was a freshman in college, I frequently overdid it on hard liquor, did some real dumbass stuff and was lucky to avoid jail. I haven't had a drop of anything stronger than beer since. My typical order in a bar back then was a bottle of Bacardi and a can of Coke or some Jack / Chivas straight up, but my last visit to a bar in those days had me attacking a bouncer twice my size (that's a big guy - I'm 6'2" and 225) and getting several of my ribs broken.

Gotta leave the good stuff to you, then. Congrats all the same.

48. He's awake, but we're like strangers passing in the night.

I work some day shifts (7-3) and some evening shifts (3-11). I just had a long stretch of evening shifts and his classes are 8-4 and then he fits in another 20 hours of work on top of that, so we haven't seen much of each other in days. :(
It's only going to be super crazy like this another month thankfully.

....David just got another job...he has to move to Dallas...but...he'll send me back alimony and kitty support HEH...so it's ALL GOOD...got one o'these yesterday to get there...damn it's a sweet ride...I drove it all over town and get to drive it over to my sisters tomorrow for my great niece's first birthday party. :woohoo:

Even if you'd had to take a small pay cut, that's more important--and in these economic times when you're lucky to have any worthwile job, having a job you actually like is an absolute gift.

Now, do you have any good vibes to spare? On Tuesday, I interviewed with the #2 and #3 people in the department. They gave rave reviews to #1, who I'm meeting with on Monday. So the job is sort of mine to LOSE, which in a way is even MORE nerve-racking!

I was worried about having to find something decent in the middle of the summer, but this job sounded so perfect I may have written the ad for it in my sleep. Definitely my best job interviews ever, most likely because my enthusiasm came across as genuine rather than scripted or rooted in desperation. Anyhoo, thanks for the spare vibes!
