Somewhere I read there was experiments going in in Germany during the 1960s w. electronic music, or music generated out of advanced technology...sort of a extension of the functionalist/minimalist ethos of the Ulm Hochschule Fur Gestaltung. And that this philosophy was the basis of what Kraftwerk was orginally trying to do.
