Finally went through my email today
I deleted over 4000 messages that were unsolicited garbage. It had been a few weeks since I checked it. The reason that I don't like checking it is because I get so much junk. If I don't check it often though, I spend so much time going through it. There are too many advertisers that have my name so I don't really have the time to unsubscribe all of them, especially since many of them will not take you off their list unless you are persistant. I hate email spammers. Even if I would be interested in their offers, I do not have time to read that junk since there are so many.

1. Don't reply! It makes it worse, even if you unsubscribe.
My cable company said if you reply or do the "Unsubscribe", then they know they have a valid address and they keep sending you junk or they sell it. They recommended getting a product that blocks the junk or simply delete.

3. Try SpamPal

http://www.spampal.org/

works like a charm for me! Of course, if you are using an icky email program like Outlook, it's not as handy as if you are using a cool email program like The Bat!.

But, spampal sits between your email program and yourserver, and tags incoming email that looks like spam and puts "spam" in the subject line. If you have a cool email program, you can then filter all the marked email into separate folder, and then check it all occasionally just to make sure a good email hasn't come in.

Spampal, for me, works at about 99+% accuracy.

Brilliant!

p.s.: forgot to add, SpamPal is FREE.

Also, you can get the bat! here: http://www.ritlabs.com

4. Just Change your E-Mail address
and set your email program to ignore everything else.
