5. Take in a well deserved sigh of satisfaction
After I take the first b..g hit I've had in 10 years, and after I finish half a bottle of Opus 1 w/ hubby, and after we've had Mars-landing sex, and after I spent 2 hours doing the 'happy dance' all around the living room!!!!

Well, no, of course not, that would kill me.

But you can bet I'll be dancing all OVER the house, maybe in the streets, and I will be ahootin' and ahollerin' and it'll be like the sound of armegeddon I'll be laughing so loudly!

9. I will do what I did the night Clinton beat bush 1 -
I danced with my baby, all over the living room, singing and cheering at the top of my lungs. Of course, my baby is 11 and a half years old by now, but knowing how HE feels about bush 2, he'll very willingly be my dancing partner again, and I won't even have to carry him this time! And I'll also be dancing with my daughter, my husband, my cats and our hamster! I will be cheering, screaming, crying, and digging out all our leftover sparklers and poppers from the 4th of July, and settin' 'em off on the sidewalk. And then - maybe a trochenbeeren auslese or eiswein or some nice, late-harvest riesling, and some fine chocolate truffles, and partying into the wee hours watching the coverage and the weepy republi-CONS licking their wounds. I am looking forward to it.

Then, I will look forward to running into a lady I know who's a fellow artist and who, in 2000, relished the way bush won and carried on about how he was going to unite this country and just be the greatest answer to our problems that ever came down the pike. Then, she regaled us proudly with stories about going to a party where she knew lots of Gore supporters were going to be, and making sure she wore her cowboy boots and western shirt, because she intended to gloat, bigtime, in their faces, all night long. Nice, 'eh? Right then and there I resolved NEVER to buy any of her paintings or watercolors ever ever ever ever. I will make sure to seek her out after the blowout. But I cannot be sure how I will behave. I've been thinking about that for a long time - what would I do if. Would I take the high road and be graceful in my victory, or would I let her have it back in the face to show her what it felt like? I still don't know the answer to that.

I also put my cowboy boots away that day and resolved not to wear them again as long as that schmuck is in office, so I don't risk being mistaken for a bush supporter. I'll wait a sufficient amount of time before I decide it's safe to pull them back out again.

Whatever I wind up doing, it will be SWEET SWEET SWEET!!!!!!!

12. While travelling and living in Asia i've....
noticed that being American is one of the things that really seems to piss people off. I live in Bejing, China and i've travelled in South Korea, Japan and 90% of South east Asia.

Always after people find out i have American citizenship they seem to treat me badly, whenever i have used my Finnish Passport and told them i'm from Finland and made sure i have nothing to distiguish me as American i have instantly gotten better service and people have generally been much nicer to me.

In Beijing it is very evident, even the lowest begger seems to look down at me when i say i'm American.

(as a side note i'd like to add: This does not happen everywhere in Beijing just in the poorer south and in the non westernised parts.)

I love China and Asia but being American here can be rather tough sometimes.

30. Celebrate quietly with a glass of wine
and then email the new President's staff and tell them I'm ready to help (volunteer or otherwise) clean up the god-awful mess this a-hole has made domestically and internationally.

The election is just the beginning of a long road back.

Get over the victory hangovers and get to work. The country needs us more than ever.

32. Don't get too cocky, people.
The neocons are dangerous enough when they're ahead; you think they're going to slink away quietly after they're beaten, especially now that they've had a taste of real power?

Assuming * loses the November election, he'll still be in office for what, two months? That's plenty of time to destroy all social services, launder away the rest of the country's money, and spread the military tissue-thin all over the globe.

And even after * leaves office, the neocons will still control the bulk of America's corporations and the media, not to mention their allies in Congress, the Senate, the Supreme Court, the Pentagon, the OHS, and the Justice Department. Whichever Democrat ousts * from power will not only have one hell of a mess to clean up, he'll also have to deal with pundits criticising his every move, GOP politicians denouncing every initiative he introduces, and calls for impeachment over anything in his past up to and including staying up past bedtime when he was five. Bill Clinton's still ongoing ordeal will look like a mild fraternity hazing by comparison.
