Who else puts things in a "safe place"?
And then promptly forgets where that "safe place" is? I've probably got 4000 things in various "safe places" and have no idea where to look for any of them.

4. I long ago learned that everything important needs to have
a "usual place" not a "safe place." If something has a usual place then I always put it in that usual place, and I never loose it.

If something is not in the usual place then either someone else moved it, or there is an important, memorable reason why I put it somewhere else.

If something is needs to go in a "safe place" then I need to give it away. Someone else can keep it safe. :)

7. No Place is Safe
Years ago before we went on an extended vacation, I wrapped my engagement ring in aluminum foil, put it in a baggie and popped it in the freezer. I thought if anyone broke in they wouldn't look there.

The day after we came back...While I was at work....SO cleaned the fridge and thinking it was some sort of old food...Threw it away!

Of course it was garbage day and I never was able to get it back.

To this day he has never cleaned the fridge again.

9. I have stopped putting things in "safe places" for that very reason.
When I do that, I never see it again.

12. Mine is to hide things from our 8 yr old granddaughter.
then I can't remember where I hid it.

The two biggies lately were scotch tape & the scissors for cutting coupons. DH needed scotch tape the other day and for the life of me I couldn't remember where I hid the last roll. Then I needed to cut open a bag and ended up using my granddaughter's school scissors because I hid mine and forgot where. DUH! Maybe I should leave them out and let her take them..at least I could go into her bins and maybe find them..if there's any left.

Believe it or not, we have to hide kleenex in this house too.

She likes to practice nurse/Dr. on her babydolls. Scotch tape works great to seal up the Kleenex bandages.
