8. Not for a deaf person
Edited on Tue Jul-10-07 04:54 PM by HawkeyeX
Have -no- interest in music.

Let me quote a "controversial deaf blogger"'s opinion on music:

I’m 33 years old. I’m gay. I was born Deaf from a long line of Deaf families. Therefore, I care less about music. Why hearing people attempts to tell me that I missed out on music is beyond me. When I shrugged about the music, they go *gasp* on me. I’m like, What the fuck? Music is music, shut up already.

That pretty much sums up my feelings on music.

13. I finally put a frequent song-poster on ignore. My first one.
The only problem with that, is that we don't always know that it contains song lyrics until we click on it. I know, "just hit the back key", but with dial-up, it does take time and is annoying. If people would only put something in their subject line (like "Lyrics"), I would skip that post entirely. Same with YouTube. Why can't those posters just DO that??? It would be greatly appreciated.

14. I've tried my best to make my song lyrics clear.
Sorry if you were unable to figure it out or not comprehend.

I love music and love sharing it, in relation to life.

If you can't or don't like music, perhaps you should examine that....

some enjoy those threads. If you don't, ignore them but to put them down because you don't connect with the topic is unfair to others who do. just saying...

16. I just counted, there are 8 on the first page, out of a possible 80.
I've reached a few conclusions:
1) I have too much time on my hands.
2) Quit whining.

22. I like words better.
The Weary Blues

Langston Hughes
1923)

Droning a drowsy syncopated tune,
Rocking back and forth to a mellow croon,
I heard a Negro play.
Down on Lenox Avenue the other night
By the pale dull pallor of an old gas light
He did a lazy sway ....
He did a lazy sway ....
To the tune o' those Weary Blues.
With his ebony hands on each ivory key
He made that poor piano moan with melody.
O Blues!
Swaying to and fro on his rickety stool
He played that sad raggy tune like a musical fool.
Sweet Blues!
Coming from a black man's soul.
O Blues!
In a deep song voice with a melancholy tone
I heard that Negro sing, that old piano moan--
"Ain't got nobody in all this world,
Ain't got nobody but ma self.
I's gwine to quit ma frownin'
And put ma troubles on the shelf."
Thump, thump, thump, went his foot on the floor.
He played a few chords then he sang some more--
"I got the Weary Blues
And I can't be satisfied.
Got the Weary Blues
And can't be satisfied--
I ain't happy no mo'
And I wish that I had died."
And far into the night he crooned that tune.
The stars went out and so did the moon.
The singer stopped playing and went to bed
While the Weary Blues echoed through his head.
He slept like a rock or a man that's dead.
