Shrimp boats are a comin'...

My shrimping buddy called again this afternoon.
"I got 12-14 counts for 4 bucks a pound and 20 counts for 2 bucks."
"Gimme 15 pounds of the 12s and 20 pounds of the 20s."

Bless his good ol' boy heart.
About 1/3 the price at the seafood market.
And he makes more than selling them there.
Win-Win.
It's well worth the drive down to the docks.
Eat your hearts out.
;-)

The 12s are for grillin' and fryin'.
The 20s are for GUMBO!

Tonight: Butterflied beer battered shrimp with a baked spud & Caesar salad.

2. Yummmy! I love going to the shrimp boat docks down in Beaufort, SC

when I'm down there on holiday. I always take home a bunch of shrimp too.

My family used to always go and get fresh shrimp at the docks when visiting my Nana and Pawpaw down in Gulf Shores back in the 1970s. At Nana's house on the water we caught crabs in our crab trap (using the mullet and croakers that we'd caught earlier as bait), we caught sea trout from the dock and we'd fry up the mackerel we caught when we went trolling on the ocean. Nana would make deviled crabs, fried fish, boiled and fried shrimp and we'd wash it all down with sweet ice tea!
