Need a little help ...
I have a job interview Friday (my first ever!), but I've only communicated with the person I'll be meeting via email. The individual's first name is Dyja. Anyone know whether this is a male or female name?

I don't want to look like an idiot by showing up not knowing. :P

1. Ask the person...

in an email before your interview. It is a fair question. State that you are unfamiliar with their name and were wondering. That's what I would do anyway. Just make sure to soft sell it... You shouldn't have to guess.

3. I probably will, I just didn't want to seem rude.
I thought it would look unprofessional to show up and ask for the person by first name, is all.

4. I understand...
but I used to have to interview and hire, and I would have considered the person to be inquisitive and on the ball if I were asked that question. Good luck.

5. I would just say..
"I have a (insert time) interview for the position of (insert position)."

2. Hit up the companies website.. Look at the employment section.
You might be able to get info for the HR person.

And, is this really a big deal? You will know when you see them. I would be worried about not pronouncing their name properly.
